Introduced in 1990, the K1100LT was BMW's premier performance touring machine. Standard equipment included ABS II, two power accessory sockets, stainless steel exhaust system with catalytic converter, three-spoke cast wheels, electrically adjustable windshield, color matched bags and top box, engine protection bars, fuel and coolant temperature gauges, AM/FM radio cassette with handlebar controls, heated handlebar grips, and locking fairing storage compartment.
All-in-all, the K1100LT was and still is a pretty nice touring motorcycle in a 639-pound (wet) package — that is just about the same weight as the 21st-century R1150RT.
